Hiring for 1 x violin tutor and 1 x cello tutor
Beatroute Arts seeks two sessional staff members to join our freelance team, working as part of the ‘Take A Bow’ programme at Beatroute. We are looking for two creative and dynamic individuals to take on the roles of violin tutor and cello tutor, to deliver engaging tuition as part of the successful strings project.
Beatroute Arts is a community-led music and arts charity operating in Balornock, North-East Glasgow. The Take a Bow project has been running for over 10 years, supporting young people to take part in early years musicianship, progressing to stringed instrument tuition alongside ensemble opportunities and theory workshops.
As part of the Take A Bow team, each tutor will be responsible for delivering small group and one-to-one tuition in their respective instrument (violin or cello) to young people.
The successful applicant will not only be a skilled and energetic tutor but will be accomplished in working in a community setting, building positive and engaging relationships with young people, many of whom come from an area high on the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation.
Take a Bow runs weekly, generally during term time, on a Tuesday at the Beatroute Arts Centre from 5.30pm-8.00pm. The fee is £42.50 per hour.
Term dates for the upcoming autumn term are outlined below and the successful candidate would be expected to commit to these dates as well as planning or evaluation meetings as required:
Tuesday 26 August – Tuesday 9 December with a break on Tuesday 14 October.
